Privacy Policy for Sticker Search

Package Name: app.stickerfind  |  Effective Date: October 11, 2026  |  Developer: Kris Garg

Zero-Data Collection & 100% Offline Architecture

Sticker Search does not have the Android Internet permission (`android.permission.INTERNET`). It cannot send, transmit, or upload any data off your phone under any circumstances. All machine learning, face grouping, and image indexing execute strictly locally on your device.

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how Sticker Search ("the App", "we", "us", developed by Kris Garg) operates regarding user privacy and data. We are committed to transparency and ensuring your personal communications and files remain entirely private.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

We believe the most secure data is the data that is never collected. Sticker Search:

  • No Personal Identifiable Information (PII): We do not collect names, phone numbers, email addresses, or contacts.
  • No Analytics or Tracking: There are no third-party telemetry, tracking SDKs, advertising libraries, or behavioral trackers embedded in the app.
  • No Location Data: The app never requests or accesses your location.
  • No Remote Cloud Storage: We do not operate external servers, databases, or cloud processing endpoints for this application.

3. On-Device Processing & Machine Learning

To search stickers by words, visual content, or people, Sticker Search runs three specialized on-device models bundled inside the application:

  • Text Recognition (OCR): Google ML Kit (Latin & Devanagari) runs entirely on-device to read text printed on your stickers. The extracted text is indexed in a local SQLite database on your device.
  • Visual Content Search: MobileCLIP-S0 executes through ONNX Runtime locally to understand image descriptions (e.g. "happy birthday", "crying cat").
  • Face Grouping: ML Kit face detection and OpenCV SFace run on-device to cluster faces into people groups so you can find stickers of friends and family. Face embeddings are stored only on your local device and are never shared or transmitted.

4. Device Permissions and Disclosures

Sticker Search requests specific permissions strictly necessary to perform its advertised features:

Storage & Folder Access (Storage Access Framework)

The app asks you to select your WhatsApp sticker directory (typically located at Android/media/com.whatsapp/WhatsApp/Media/WhatsApp Stickers). Access is strictly read-only and used solely to index your sticker files locally. Your original sticker files are never deleted, renamed, or altered.

AccessibilityService API Disclosure (Mandatory Google Play Notice)

Sticker Search uses the Android AccessibilityService API (implemented via BubbleService) exclusively for the following feature:

  • To detect when you are typing inside a WhatsApp chat and display an optional overlay button.
  • To temporarily switch to the Sticker Search input method to insert your chosen sticker directly into the chat box with a single tap, and immediately return to your normal keyboard.

Important: The Accessibility Service does NOT record, monitor, collect, or transmit any user keystrokes, messages, screen content, or credentials. It operates purely as an automation helper on your device.

Input Method / Sticker Keyboard

Android security guidelines require an Input Method (keyboard) service to commit rich media (WebP stickers) directly into another application's message box. The Sticker Search keyboard does not have typing keys, cannot record user input, and has zero network capabilities.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

All data generated by the app (local search indexes, image embeddings, custom tags, and person names) resides solely in the application's isolated private sandbox directory. You can delete all data at any time by clearing the application storage in Android Settings or by uninstalling the application.

6. Children's Privacy

Sticker Search does not knowingly collect or solicit any personal information from children under the age of 13. Because no personal data is collected or transmitted from any user, the application is safe for all audiences.

7. Security

By completely removing the Internet permission from our Android manifest (android.permission.INTERNET tools:node="remove"), your data is protected by the operating system sandbox from remote interception or exfiltration.

8. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Effective Date".
